non-WIN prgms run in RemoteAssis?

I, EXPERT, am striving to tutor a NOVICE user, (at public library). The
subject will be a CAD prgm. Is it possible to have Remote Assistance be the
'mule'?

There are far better solutions as RA is designed for troubleshooting problem
systems remotely and requires input from the person being assisted.

Also - surely the library will have prot 3389 blocked? (and almost every
other port, for that matter?)

You asked a variation of this before and I asked for clarification. You
never replied to that thread. Well, here you are again and now at least we
know what you are trying to do.

As I told you in my reply to your first thread, there are methods but none
of them will really work in this situation because all require being able
to install something on the library computer and require that the library
allow exceptions in its firewall. This isn't going to happen.

And no, Remote Assistance won't work in this situation either. You and your
pupil need to find a way to meet at a computer owned by either you or he
which has CAD on it. Or your pupil should look for an adult education/local
college course on using CAD.

Hi,

I missed the part about the public library. If you are there, the ports used
by most remote programs will be blocked. If the novice is there, he or she
is unlikely to be able to install any software as Malke has indicated.

As to what's better? Practically anything. I like RealVNC, but that's just
me, it may not suit you. You need to simply search on and read about all the
ones freely available via your favorite search engine.
