Norton AntiVirus - unable to uodate

Ever since I installed SP2 I have not been able to update Norton AntiVirus
live update, the error message is Windows SP2. Can anyone help? Also I
printed the instructions from Symantec about trying to install live update,
their instruction was to Run: msconfig then go to boot section and tick safe
mode which I did, now my computer either runs in safe mode or selective
startup. What can I do as I can't seem to change it as when I change it to
Normal Startup the computer starts in safe mode. Was I given the wrong
information from Symantec? How do I rectify this? I am a novice computer user.

I have tried all the options offered on the Symantec website and still have
no joy! I have even posted a question to them and have had no reply - this
was 2 weeks ago - they claim to answer all queries within 24 hours. Please
could someone help?
