It seems that after I did an update win98, and then days later tried to do
a norton virus scan, I got "cannot find task, you may not have rights to
read.........."#3014,554 check user settings.
going to symantic and running their test, it says that win. is running in
"audit mode"
then gives me incorrect info to turn it off. HELP!!

THANX, BUT BEEN THERE DONE THAT--PROB. IS THE PATH THEY GUIDE ME DOWN COMES
TO A DEAD END. it says to delete "audit in progress+ audit mode"
-- PATH_hkey local machine\software\microsoft\windows\current versions---and
thats the end NO RIGHT PANE,so nothing to delete :-) maybe your info will
help some thanx again
