Not able to add contacts

I am not able to add any new contacts.. They show in my list as offline.. but
they never get sent the add message and i never get one if they add me.. the
strange thing is i can message them but not able to use my web cam.. it says
contact is not in list click here to add. but when i click it does nothing.
Can anyone help.

I did have a lot of contacts. but i went thru and deleted almost everyone
thinking that maybe i had crossed a threshold of some sort.

Sure glad I happened upon this info. I was having the same difficulty. Too
bad MSN doesn't actually correct the problem instead makes its users search
for a fix.
After the fix offered by Jason Tsang...all is back to normal....finally!!
