Hii experts,

I want to add one more host data to the windows host file located at "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc". But when I open the file with notepad, add the data and try to save, I am getting ther error message:
"Cannot create the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct."

Please note that I am trying this in my admin user only. Also, I am using Vista Home Basic.

Regards,
AK.

Although you are logged in as an Admin user, you need to run notepad with administrative privileges - that should do the trick

To do this, right click on the notepad icon and select "Run as Administrator".
