Hi

I am facing a very minor however irritating issue with IE on my Vista.

On the task bar, when I right click->Close nothing happens.
"Sometimes" when I click on the IE button on the task bar, the window does
not minimize.

Not sure on what the issue is?

Did anyone else face this issue too?

On the Close issue, if you are using tabbed browsing & have more than one
tab open, a confirmation message ("Do you want to close all tabs") will
inhibit closing until it is dismissed.

In the Internet Options dialog, on the 'General' tab, you can click the
'Settings' button in the 'Tabs' section and clear the checkbox labeled "Warn
me when closing multiple tabs"

Thanks Keith! for the very quick reply!

No, the issue with not with the tabbed browsing.
Nothing happens when I click on Right Click->Close
Or just click on the task bar IE button to minimize the window.
This does not happen always. Just frequently that it has become irritating.

On a side note: What is Windows Shell?

Any suggestions to this one?

I have not faced this issue since I have shared it on this group!

I am just afraid that it might come back and I would feel irritated

Hi,

I have experience this problem a few months ago, thought it was some
virus and I did a recovery for my notebook. It works fine after that.

But this problem came back recently, thinking might be caused by some
programs.

Trying to think back what program I have installed.

Only then I realised that I did a installation of a tablet software a
few months ago and only recently. I try and uninstall it.

And it works fine after that.

Hopes this info helps.

i also have the same problem, though i don't use IE, i still want t
know why this is happening. Every time you want to close the applicatio
using the right click on the taskbar, it would respond with a "ding
indicating that it couldn't complete the task. what could possibly b
related to this problem?

I'm running vista home basic 32-bit on my tx2500 tablet p

WORKAROUND:
I've figured out that if you minimize the window first, you can the
right-click close the window. If you have tabs open, you'll still b
prompted as expected, but at least you can right-click close th
window.

If you've already got your mouse at the taskbar, just left click i
first to minimize, then right-click...
