Hello,
when I enter some words in the startmenu search box, I get some Outlook
2007 EMails, Word documents, favorites, programs, whatever results,
directly in the startmenu.

I am a amateur developer and create a folder on drive D: "Projects". I
had add this folder and subfolders with the system control to the
search index. C , H, and other files from visual studio, (properties
and content, plain text filter)
When I now enter a string in ther explorer search field it show me this
files in the explorer as search results. Therefore I think the files
inside the folder are included in the search index.

But why they are not displayed directly in the startmenu? I must always
click on "Search everywhere" first.

Peter

Do you have the 'Search whole index' option enabled at this particular
location? If not, enable it.

Right-click Start button > Properties > Customize

You say that you are indexing drive H as well? I assume that drive H is a
plug & play storage device?
