When I go on to my Bank of america Account at bankofamerica.com and get
inside, I notice that on teh left hand side there are some boxes with links,
but they are not displayed correctly. I cant see what the words are supposed
to say and I dont know why. I tried changing fonts, I tried messing with
encoding.. but nothing... why is it like that?? when I then try and use
Mozilla firefox the bank of america stuff displays fine and I can read
everything.. How can I fix this?

Hi,
I can't login to that site, so I'm guessing that you're not seeing
Javascript links.

So, some possibilities:
Go to Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone, set it to Default.

Try placing the site in Trusted Sites (Internet Options> Security.) Uncheck
"Require server verification" and enter the site as *.bankofamerica.com

Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content when that dialog pops up) It's often
recommended that the TIF folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)

Check any third-party security programs to see if one of them is blocking
scripts, scripting, active content. Norton Internet Security and a number of
other programs can be configured to block scripts.

Try these two commands from Start> Run> cmd [enter]
regsvr32 vbscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]

Reinstall the scripting engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ist/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download of Windows Script 5.6

Re-registering the DLLs listed in this article may help:
281679 - You Cannot Open New Internet Explorer Window or Nothing Happens
After You Click a Link: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

Hope this helps,

thank you for your reply... However I dont think that is the problem.. I
tried a few of your suggestions, and I will try the rest.... but what the
problem is if different i believe.. the words ARE displayed.. they are in
english and I can click on thema dn they links do work, only what the problem
is for withith that "Box" or "frame" where the links are, those links are
jumbled together wrong and it looks liek they are being cut off.. wehere you
should see more to your left, but you cant... another person has reported
this same problem I just read, so maybe it somehting to do with the Bankof
america site and IE7 compatibility?>... everything else on teh bank of
america site works fine, only on teh left hand side these "boxes' or "frames"
with links and such dont display as they should, line by line, linking...
instead they are jumbled up or cutoff...

Aaaaah.... IE7! You coulda said. ;-) This newsgroup also gets IE6
questions.

IE7 handles CSS differently. Many websites will have to be redesigned (to
some extent) to work properly with IE7.
