not connecting to msn with windows live messenger 8.0

I want to connect to msn messenger with windows live messenger 8.0, but it gives me an error that has code 80040111. what can I do?

I am experiencing the same thing, I thought that I have some virus, so I
re-installed my laptop, but the problem still exists after installation. Also
I found that the messenger window is slow to respond, like typing in the
email or password, etc it takes quite some time before the words typed
actually appears in the text box.

Any help will be appreciated.
