Hi
To try to regain some free space:
1)
Stop System Restore (this will most likely regain some free disk space)
and let it be off while installing SP2.
How to turn on and turn off System Restore in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310405
2)
In Explorer, right click on your C: disk and select Properties.
Then select "Disk Cleanup".
3)
Delete the %windir%\$NtServicePackUninstall$\ folder if
(%windir% is typically C:\Windows)
Note that the folder is marked as hidden, so to see it, you need
to have Explorer configured to show hidden files/folders.
4)
If you see %windir%\$NTUninstall* folders which dates back to your
SP1 installation, you can delete those.
The following folders should be safe to delete:
%windir%\$xpsp1hfm$\
%windir%\$NtUninstallQ<some#>$\
%windir%\$NtUninstallKB<some#>$\
Note that the folders are marked as hidden, so to see them, you
need to have Explorer configured to show hidden files/folders.
If SP2 installs after the above:
For folders you can consider deleting and other disk cleanup tips
after a SP2 installation, take a look here:
