My ISP will not allow me online for more than four hours at a time and that
is not long enough to get the entire SP2 downloaded. Is there a disc or
alternate way to get the update? Thank you for your time.

Go to the Microsoft web
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/s...displaylang=en and order it
free. You will get it in a week or so.

Have you tried anyway? AFAIK provided you are using WUv5
the download is done by BITS which has recovery restart capability
built into it.

Once it gets started open a command window and periodically enter:

bitsadmin /WRAP /LIST /ALLUSERS /VERBOSE

Take note of the stats before your link is scheduled to go down
and then again the next time you get the download started.
See if the number of bytes changes when you do that
(assuming you aren't getting it in a suspended state
or cancelling it.)

As a matter of fact, if I read some of the other bitsadmin options
correctly, you could even manually suspend the download and
then expect to be able to reconnect later and resume the download.
So try that too if it doesn't successfully recover automatically on restart.
Notice though that you need to be using WUv5 and not WUv4
to get this effect automatically. (I think that BITS is actually an
independent feature from WUv5 and that it might even be feasible
for WUv4 users to simulate the same download that WUv5 users
get but I'm not sure about that and I haven't tried to do such a thing.
In any case I can't think of any reason why, if you have XP,
you would want to stay with WUv4, assuming that is even
still possible.)
