I researched this on the internet with the manufacturer and found no help, so
I broke down and researched the file structure needed for the LSC-24082K ATA
Device (Slimtype Combo DVD/CD-RW) to work properly and my solution is as
follows:
On the test I discovered four(4) missing files ...
These following files belong in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder.
AFS2K.SYS
IMAPI.SYS
PXHELP20.SYS
REDBOOK.SYS
Make sure that the file CDROM.SYS is present in that above location too.
There is also a dependent file, STORPROP.DLL that should be in the
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder
After copying the missing files to there proper place I uninstalled the
driver and restarted the system and everything was working perfectly.
My install type was an upgrade, but for some reason VISTA deleted the
dependent files needed for the DVD/CR-RW to work properly.
Good luck, I hope this works for you.
