windows vista home premium---just will not logoff either administrator of my
computer--also, task manager has no programs running---have to turn off the
computer from the tower button and restart to finally get it to shutdown.
have disabled all but my firewall and antivirus to load at startup. Any
other suggestions??? Thank you in advance for all your help!

Hi Andre--no beeps----this is a relatively new (March 2007) Dell and I have
not gotten any messages to update any drivers yet-- Just checked the event
viewer--- errors from perflib application, usbperf, and
DistributedCOM---don't have the faintest idea what all that means and haven't
a clue how to fix it anyhow! if you can help me, I would really appreciate
it---this is driving me crazy!
