I have Windows XP. Anybody else have windows xp? What virus scanner is the
best that you think is good and you use?

Let's see if a rant thread can be started...

I've thought security items as should be part of the operating system (not a
self-sustaining industry, er, 3rd part add-on's). Some security "parts" are
in Windows (firewall, popup-block, etc), and much collisons (that is, must
turn off all two often, in the real world).

I have XP Media Center Edition 2005 (operating) and Dell installed a trial
McAfee Security Center. (all it wants to do, is update itself all day &
night, it seems).

I wonder if a price comparison (for subscription updates especially) could
be posted?

The best AV is without a doubt NOD32 http://www.nod32usa.com/ . You can try
it for free for 30 days. As a previous symantec user, the difference is
amazing. I use it with Windows Firewall, and have never had a problem.
