The 5.7.1 error from smtp.where secureserver.net indicates any of several
problems with 1) the server, 2) your account on the server, 3)the mail
you're trying to send, or 4) the address you're trying to send it to. If a
virus were attached to the mail she tried to send herself and the server
virus scanner caught it, for instance, she could get that message. Another
guess: your wife's e-address has somehow gotten catagorized as "junk" to her
work spam filter, and that's why she can't send mail (5.7.1). This is just a
theory, but as theories go it has some explanatory power for insights such as
the discovery that installing a new email client gets rid of the problem for
a while. You both might want to try that just to see if it changes the
problem(s) symptoms for either of you.
