Not receiving autoupdates

I haven't received any automatic updates since August. The
last thing I received automatically was Sp2 in August,
which is running great. I have autoupdates to notify me
before downloading & installing & looked & it is turned
on. I noticed there are 2 critical updates that have been
waiting but I never have received a notification. Any
ideas? Thanks

Hi

The steps below may help you:

In Control Panel/Automatic Updates, turn AU off if it is on, do
a reboot, and then turn AU on again and see if that helps.

If that didn't work out, and you have Windows XP SP2 installed,
check that the WuWebControlClass is enabled in Internet Explorer:

Here are some more steps you can try if the above was of no help:

Hi again
Thank you for trying to help me but still not getting the
auto updates. I'm not getting any error messages I've
tried the helps you offered but wasn't successful.
Do I need to go back & delete the renamed software
distribution file or just leave it there? I now have a new
distribution download file & the one I renamed "old"
Thanks for your response.

Hi

You can just delete the renamed software distribution folder.
