I receive the above message when trying to access any internet site. I
am unable to connect to any internet site. Additionally, I am unable
to connect my Outlook to our exchange server.
This circumstance began today, I've been working with this notebook
since late June, accessing the internet, connecting to Exchange etc.
All other computers on our network running Windows XP are not
experiencing any problems.
Fundamental change over the weekend was that I uninstalled Norton
Internet Security and enabled the Windows Firewall for home use. At
the office, I disable the firewall as we are protected via our network
firewall (Cisco PIX).
I've been fighting daily freezes including blue screen followed by
memory dump. I've disabled the secure card service as this seems to be
the primary source of the freezes and uninstall Norton's Internet
Security per the advice of our IT consultant.
