Will not stay in hibernate

Since the most recent update (I've only done 2 - the computer's only about a
month old) it will not hibernate - starts to and then immediately resumes.
This also happened after the first update, but then somehow corrected itself.
So, I can shut down every time, which I gues is not a bad thing, but
inconvenient. I did look at the event monitor, but I don't know enough to
know what I was looking at.
Any fixes?
Thanks

The Event logs show errors, cautions and just informational comments.
The red marked errors can be serious, the yellow caution warnings may
be a sign of something wrong or not doing what Vista expects.

If your computer is only a month old, you should contact the seller
and take advantage of the warranty if you feel it is not working
correctly.

Hibernation/power issues are common, and sometimes hard to trouble
shoot since many things can cause problems.

If you bought a name brand box like A Dell, HP or Gateway you should
ask in their forums so you get a more tuned response. If it is a
common problem with your particular model, somebody's probably
experienced it already and might have a fix.

I had to work through all the devices in Device Manager and uncheck "allow
this device to wake the computer". You might need to do a similar thing in
the BIOS, disabling the "wake on LAN" as well.

It cured it for me.

In the end I found I was able to allow the keyboard to wake the machine (but
only that - nothing else), which is quite convenient.
