Not sure which update trashed my computer

The most recent batch of updates contains a bad one. The symptoms are I
can't click on any shortcut on my desktop to bring up a program. All
functions are so slow they time out or just don't come up. I know for sure
it is one of the updates because I restored the system to where there are no
updates and everything is alright now.

Any idea which one is the bad one?

Why not try installing them one at a time and solve your own problem and
then tell everybody else if they have a similar problem.

I do install them one at a time normally. I know for sure that KB921883
causes the computer to crash suddenly and reboot itself. I managed to
remove that update and go back to a restore point. Then when I was
installing the remainder of the 6 updates one seem to hang. I cancelled
that install but it didn't cancel, it finished installing. I was forced to
reboot and when it came back up the rest had been automatically installed.
I found a good restore point and turned off the updates.

Update KB917422 caused this on my computer. One of my programs support
site had info on this. I took this update off my computer and was able
to use my shortcuts again and use my programs.
