nothing happens

I click on custom for windows update, it gives the screen shot where it says
its looking for updates, and nothing ever ever happens.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Have plenty of patience. Are you at least seeing the green progress bar move? That is, presuming you're past the selection for express or custom.

Do keep in mind there's a lot of heavy traffic to the site around this time. Consider re-trying in 2 hours or so ---- unless you do get an explicit Error message. If so, post back with the complete code and text displayed.
