Hi,
Hit ctrl+shift+escape to open Task Manager, then on the applications tab
click 'new task'. Type in explorer.exe and hit <enter>. Does this return the
shell (normal desktop)?
Run regedit, check this value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
The 'shell' string at right should contain 'explorer.exe' as its value.
