Hi all,

I use an ancient program to replace Windows native notepad. It is
called 'Notpad'. Imagine typing that into a search, you get a
suggestion that you meant 'Notepad' and no relevant info.

The program is discontinued. However, it worked fine in Viats x64.
Until a few days ago. I cannot execute the program. It shows up in
taskmamager. Clicking .txt files does nothimg. When I dlete the
notpad.exe and replace it with the original from zip, nothing.

Any ideas? I went back to a latest save pojnt, no effect. I
uninstalled the 17th batch of security patches, no effect.

Thanks for any pointers in advance!

Have you got the latest version?

You could always contact the author if you are having problems.

I have the latest version. But the problem isn't Notpad anyway. It is
Vista, or some security update. Something changed over night in my
system. The file associations were set corectly. In the meantime I use
Notepad ++. But it is way too much overkill for viewing the most
ancient of all extension (probably).

WHy do people not post something useful?

It is not junk. It is a very small very basic low resource text viewer
without any useless additions.
