Nov. Office Updates fail

I just attempted to install the 2 Nov. Office updates(KB919029 and junk email
filter).
I first d/l'd the installers and tried to install them and that failed. I
then went to Windows Update and tried that route only to end with the same
results. I see it appears I'm not the only one so I thought I would pile on.
I would have responded in someone elses post on this matter but I did that in
the IE7 discussion and had someone complain because I wasn't giving a
solution. I figured it would help MS people to see more than one person was
having the same problem. Anyway, hopefully MS can address this issue.

Windows version?

Were you first attempting to install the updates via Automatic Updates or by
manually downloading/installing them?

Have you asked your question in the Office Update newsgroup
(microsoft.public.officeupdate)?

How to troubleshoot Windows Update, Microsoft Update, and Windows Server
Update Services installation issues:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=906602

1. See the "Need more help? Tell us what problem you are having" section of
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=ph;en-us;6527

2. You cannot install some updates or programs
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798

3a. Check Windowsupdate.log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) for errors
associated with the download/install.

How to read the Windowsupdate.log file:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=902093

3b. Compare errors to those listed here:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive...date_codes.htm and/or go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com > click on Help and Support link in left
pane > Solve problems on your own.

4. Windows Update Checklist:

Sorry, I'm using XP Home SP2 FULLY updated. I have Office 2003 Pro FULLY
updated.(except for these 2)

I used Windows Update to identify the need for the updates and navigated to
the update pages and d/l'd them to install. I tried the 919029 first and it
fail and then I tried the email filter and it failed. I then went back to
Windows Update and tried to get them there. They were d/l'd on Win Update but
failed in the install.

I did a search on Microsoft.com for KB919029, and couldn't find it.. might
it have been removed, but not form WU? it registers on WU as a 0kb file..

OK.. on the Microsoft Update site, KB919029 registers as 0 kb.. if one
navigates to the new Microsoft Office online site and then clicks on 'Office
Update' in the Downloads column, left hand side, it asks to accept an active
x control, searches for any relevant updates, and then downloads a 75kb file
which installs without problem..
