Now I am really confused

I was reading for about vista and it said for upgrading you upgrade to a
partion of your hard drive????? WHAT???????????????I don't get it! Someone
please explain so I dont loose my mind.

Wait until you are not confused to switch from XP to Vista.

Preinstalled in a new computer vs. upgrading your old computer
might be the first decision, then you'd need to consider which edition.
I suggest you don't rush any decisions - take as much time as you need.
Vista is nice, but it's got irritations. Get a salesman to demonstrate it.
