nsis problems

I just purchased a HP pavillion with vista premium x64 and am havin
trouble installing items ive downloaded. I get "error launchin
installer" in a nsis dialog box. when I do a search for fixes the onl
thing I can find are for 32x versions. Why would I get this error ms
on a brand new computer? My internet connection is acting wierd coul
that be an issue? thnx for the hel
