Yes I believe you are correct as that seems to be the case - I have been
taking ownership as and when i run into problems - its just VERY tedious
thats all and I'm worried I'm opening up more security risks by making my
files nearly open to everyone. Im not quite sure how much permission
everything needs you see. I've seen in other posts about using secedit to
re-apply default security templates but I dont think I have the syntax right
as it doesnt appear to be changing much.
I'd love there to be some utility once I have ownership of all files on my
computer to resest the permissions. Anyone know of anything???
In anycase when RC1 comes out I'm going to try a clean install from a fully
formatted Hard Drive as the NTFS permissions are all over the place at the
mo.
In anycase the few probs I was having seem to be solved by taking ownership
etc - its just taken me two long laborious days to do that, phew!!!!!!!
Many thanks for everyones comments
Regards
Mike
