$ntuninstal equivalent

I posted the following question here:
http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/...teID=17&mode=1
and Tim suggested I post in this forum instead for more information. Here
goes:

In the process of deploying XP images, we generally practiced emptying all
temp directories, the C:\windows\SoftwareDistributiuon\Download folder and
deleting the $ntuninstal directories and corresponding log files. Since we
have keep older images, if this proves to be a problem, it is just as easy to
get back to an older image as it is to figure out which updates are causing
the problem and uninstalling them.

I know this means you can't uninstall the updates, but that isn't a concern.
I have found the SoftwareDistribution folder in Vista, but is there an
equivalent for the $ntuninstal folders? Are they just hidden? Are they
elsewhere? Where does Vista keep the old files?

Thanx in advance

Sean

I found a command line utility that will clean up the Vista SP1
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true
which cleans old files, but what about the regular kb update files?
