I have an application update that I know cannot be installed. How can I get
rid of it so that XP stops reminding me I have to install it?

Many thanks.

Hi Andrew,

Try this:
Go to Microsoft Update website. Select "Custom"
Let it scan for updates. When done, locate the particular update that you
don't want to install then put a box to "hide" or "do not show" this update.

Unfortunately, it doesn't let me hide the update. It says it is downloaded
"and ready to install". How do I delete the temp. file it is in from my
computer.

Thanks.

Thanks. That directory, "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download", contains
a dozen subdirectories and over a dozen files. Can I delete them all?

Regards,

Andrew
