Number next to Unread e-mail starts at 11

I continue to use LiveMail 12.0.1606 as a preference. The number next to
unread e-mail starts at 11 rather than 0. It will increase with new emails,
but will not go below 11 once all new emails are read.

I have tried clicking "mark all as read" as well as changing how often the
database is to be compacted (1). Nothing helps.

How can I revert this number back to 0?

Thank you.

I would recommend to you to upgrade to the latest version.

Hi, Mehµlßha!.

I also would recommend updating WLM - but Nissi1 said, "I continue to use
LiveMail 12.0.1606 as a preference." So, I suppose, the wrong unread mail
count "comes with the territory" and there's nothing we can do to help. Our
best advice has been rejected in advance. :>(

I beg to differ. The wrong unread email count does not come with the
territority. However, if upgrading is your best advice, you are correct
there is nothing you can do to help. Although, I sincerely thank you all
for your responses.

The advice to update the application is good :-)

Where are you seeing the wrong count, in the Quick View or in the info bar
of a mail folder?

If the latter, then ensure that on the view menu>show or hide> 'show all
messages' is selected, and also disable 'View by conversation'.

For a failure of the Quick view, you will have to edit the Registry, you do
the following at your own risk, or you get someone to do it for you?

Close WLM.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail.
Delete the key "SearchFolderVersion"
Exit Registry Editor.
WLM will rebuild its Quick View information next time it is opened, give it
time!!

This bug was fixed in the latest version
.i.e. thus suggestions to upgrade are quite valid

See Paul's post for a script
- but if you are averse to installing/running a script or something else then you'll have to fix it manually with a registry edit
