number of recent programs to display - How to clear?

In XP, I was able to clear all the recent program shortcuts from the start
menu by opening "customize start menu" and clicking the "Clear List" button.
I can't find such a function in Vista, so all I can do is remove each
short-cut one by one or change the "
number of recent programs to display"

to zero and then back to 9.

Anyone know where the "Clear List" button is in Vista?

Bob

It is strange that the clear button was removed. To simulate the same
effect, under the privacy section of the start menu properties tab, uncheck
"store and display a list of recently opened programs", hit apply, then
recheck and hit ok.

Actually, "rtk" circumvention go it right.

Andre's recommendation talks about "recently opened files" a.k.a. "recent
items" (a bit ambiguous if you ask me). I was referring to "recently opened
programs".

Although XP has a button to clear this (albeit tucked away in the "Customize
Start Menu"), Vista apparently does not it anywhere.

Vista should add "Clear Recent Programs List" in the "recently opened
programs"context sensitive menu (that is located above "All Programs" on the
"Start Menu"). Maybe in SP1 someday?

Thanks "rtk"!

Bob.
