number of update distribution with WSUS

Hi,

I am using SUS for 300 XP-workstations. At the same time I am testing
some workstations with the new version of WSUS and it works fine.

But I have the problem that WSUS needs some update processes to get a
workstation up to date if I have updates from different patchdays.

Why does WSUS handles it this way? Is it failure?
As far as I know, SUS works a different way: It connects updates with
different time stamps.
