Nvidia driver problem

Hi, can anyone help with the following please?
I have been getting some problems in FSX mostly with intermittant
stuttering and jagged lines. This occurs with the sliders toward minimum. I
was advised to download the latest driver from Nvidia website as I am still
using 171.16 and the latest driver is 178.24. The download starts OK but when
it gets to 99% it locks up and the only way to clear it is in Task Manager. I
have tried two or three times always with the same result. Any help welcome.

Do you have access to a second PC you can try to download the driver on....
or perhaps ask a friend to download it and burn to a CD for you?
