NVIDIA driver update failed

While trying to install the NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS,
I received an error message that the installation has failed. The details
listed a Code 80246001 error which I couldn't find any description about on
the Internet.

The current driver I'm using is 100.65 and searching online for updated
drivers through Device Manager states that I'm using the latest drivers. So,
is there any driver updates at all in the first place?

Search the manufacturer's site for update drivers - don't download them from WU.

I've been having problems alot lately with nvidia card 7900gt was going to buy
8800GTS Is your card running ok. Nvidia has a pretty tight forum also and is
a good place for answers. going there now if there is something for you i'll
come back here and post again. GL

Thanks for the replies! I would look through the manufacturer's site to
check if there's an update.

In Windows XP, my card is running great except for the slightly high GPU
temperatures (60C when idle, 70C on load).

Same can't be said for Vista. A major issue would be the occasional blank
screen that you get upon boot up though this can be worked around by powering
down the computer and turning it on again. However, this is a driver
compatibility issue and I'm sure it'll be fixed in future updates.

Only update when your hardware is not working fine
