to say that I am surprised as I haven't had many vista related crashes
with the GeForce 8800 - in saying that I am not surprised that such a
large number comes from gaming as a lot of games tend to crash.

You believe everything you read because it's posted somewhere on the web.
You truly are an idiot and have no clue about software in general. You say
your are technical but you are just a moron. Live with it.

Now do a GOOGLE search and post more negative articles about Vista. I'm
sure you can find them.

Well, the article leaves out some VERY important key questions: Upgrade v.
Clean install, updated drivers v. upgraded drivers, are the 2 that
immediately come to mind. I am an intense online gamer who uses Nvidia SLI
and I have yet to have any crashes because of the video card. Granted, I am
running x64 platform of Vista, Clean Install and updated drivers. As with
ANY new techy gadget, it is always best to wait 6 - 12 months before you rush
out and buy it, that way they will fix most of the bugs and have some
updates. Case in point: A lady bought SEVERAL iPhones at a low price and
then turned around and put them up on eBay in an attempt to make a profit.
Next day Apply announced the 200 dollar price drop and she was royally
screwed.

Moral of this story: Wait

In fairness it was more of a negative view of nVidia's drivers and not
Vista itself.

That may be true but I was mostly commenting on what Orange posts on. He
will find every negative story and post it. Doesn't matter if it's true or
not.

I have posted many Vista - pro news, but you are so biased in looking for
the negative posts,
that you skip them over don't you? So actually its YOU who are negative and
want to find reasons to post stupid replies like you always do. You thrive
on negativity, you leech your energy and your whole existance is based on
it. I know you from all your post.. its not a secret.

This post first of all is Vista PRO since it explains that its not always
vistas fault for the crashes.

In any case, I have no particular reason to be negative towards a software.

If its crap Its crap. Vista happens to be crap. If Windows7 is not, you wont
see me saying anything bad about that, and you don't see me bashing windows
XP at all.. lol

Coincidence? No...

Might have to do with half the PCs sold during the time had nVidia cards or
chipsets in them.

What I find striking is how video seems to cause this so much. Maybe it is
that UMA/shared memory stuff and Vista has a bug or two in it?

I have used nVidia cards now for at least 8 years since ATI became crummy
with their drivers and Linux support.

Vista as is to new Coke as is XP to Coke Classic.

Dumb shits in Microsoft marketing aught to be realizing this by now.
