If my 5200 (128Mb) is, yours certainly should be. However, you may not
be able to use the VERY latest drivers, which really isn't necessary
IMO, as NVidia reportedly is no longer supporting the 5xxx cards.

to install Vista Ultimate every time I try to install it it goes through
every step and then right when its restarting it freezes on a black screen
with the mouse pointer.

I tried that but it does not look like they offer support for the 5X series
anymore

Aero works fine with this 5200 card, and there were no install problems
with RC2 Ultimate. Final version not yet installed. It is likely that
your problem lies elsewhere. Disconnect all unnecessary hardware prior
to install.

Robert:
The card is compatible.
NVidia has chosen not to support their 5000 series card in Vista any longer.
You will have to stick to the Vista included driver which works fine.
