October MS office updates

Having real hassles trying to install the Office 2003 updates released
today/yesterday. No matter what I try including OSE trick from
Troubleshooter, I cannot get these updates to install - they simply fail.

Any suggestions

I've also had a lot of trouble this evening but have finally succeeded! What
error messages - if any - have you been receiving?

Hi Paul

None unfortunately just the failed message - I've even tried downloading the
updates and installing them manually - again without success

I had a similar problem with October Office 2003 updates (in Italian).

I have Office 2000 and Excel 2003 Viewer, but at the Winupdate website
they suggested me two different updates, one for Excel 2003 Viewer and
another for Office 2003 (kb923275 and kb923272), that I downloaded but
couldn't install.

I've solved this way:
I've first unistalled Excel 2003 viewer (with its previous updates),
then reinstalled its original version (Date Published 12/10/2004 from
MS website at http://tinyurl.com/a7lu8), and finally downloaded and
installed without any problems the update (they didn't ask me to
download the Office 2003 update).

let me ask following question please.
What did you do with all previous updates ?
As long as I know the october update are no cumulative,
so the app and all previous updates should be reinstalled.

I have same problems. Only PP, Excel and Word Viewers 2003 installed.
923272, 923276, 923275 fail to install "update can't be applied".

When I uninstalled the updated Excel 2003 Viewer its updates were also
uninstalled at the same time; but after installing the 2004 version of
Excel 2003 Viewer, Windows Update asked me to download only the most
recent update.
However, in the installed program list, along with Excel Viewer, the
following 2 updates appear (both installed today): Security Update for
Office 2003 (KB923272): PVMSO, and Security Update for Excel Viewer
2003 (KB923275): XLVIEW as shown in the screen capture at Excel 2003
Viewer at http://www.mytempdir.com/986704 .
