odd problem with any kind of installer

Vista SP2
BitDefender Internet Security 2010

This just started happening -- whenever I click on an installer, whether it
be for a game or some program, it opens very slow -- I'd say at least 30
seconds just for the "run" box to appear. Does anyone know of something that
would suddenly be causing this?
