OEM system builder pack

I bought a Vista Ultimate OEM system builder pack (not upgrade) for my
home/family computer. I have a corrupt XP and my Internet Explorer will not
work. (I already tried updating) The package keeps talking about OPK and
when I go to the site it asks about my organization.(I don't have one)
Did I buy the wrong thing? I need help!!!
the product description is: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit English 1pk OEI
DVD
If I did buy the right package how do I go along installing it? Do I erase
everything then install?

I don't think its possible to do upgrades with OEM versions of Windows, it
has always been a clean install for me since XP.

It's NOT an upgrade

Boot from the DVD and do a clean install.

Yes, you have to format the hard drive and start clean. By design, OEM
CDs cannot perform upgrades; they are specifically designed to be installed
only onto clean (empty) partitions.

I don't think you need to worry about OPK.
I bought an OEM version of Vista 64, which mentioned something about OPK.
But I didnt need it and just charged ahead with the install with no
problems.

I think the OPK is for things like customized startup screens, etc.

You will need to clean install, as Bruce says. But if you have a partition
or drive, you won't need to erase what you've already got (but should back
up anyway).

Meant to say if you have a CLEAN partition or drive.....
