Several years ago, I bought Office 2000. If the computer it currently is on
is donated to charity (and software removed), can one install Office 2000 on
a new computer without "compatibility issues". The office programs are used
very little and do everything I need.

I think OP is well aware of that, which perhaps explains why he
removed it from his old computer and wants to install it on his new
computer. The question was about compatibility not intellectual
property rights.
