Office 2000 compatibility with Office 2007 basic

I have word documents built under Office 2000/Windows 2000 are they
compatable with Office 2007/Windows XP given I'm buying a new computer and it
will have Office 2007 and XP

They will load and you can choose to save them in the new format - or you
can save them in Word 97-2003 format.
