Office 20003 SP2 fails with 0x80070643 in a WSUS environment

Hi All,

I have WSUS running on a Windows 2003 Adv Server. While I could push out
Office 2003 SP2 to some desktops, a majority fail with 0x80070643.

All my clients are Windows XP Pro (patched with SP2 and other security
patches). They were all ghosted initially. I re-recreated the SUSClientID in
the registry.

See if the information in this MSKB article helps you to resolve the
problem:

You receive an "Error 80070643" error message when you try to update Office
2003 by using Software Update Services
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=903772

If no joy, then might I suggest that you post your question to the newsgroup
dedicated to WSUS:
microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services

Hi Patti,

I have tried all three solutions from the link you provided. All three
soultions did not work. Are there any other possible solutions?
