Office 2003 Administrative Install Patching AND Micrpspft Update

I apologize if this has already been posted, but I attempted to search for an
existing discussion thread and could not locate one.

Anyway, we typically use an Administrative Install & SMS to push Office
2003 installs to our new desktop deployements. With the release of Microsoft
Updates, we noticed that SP2 would not install to existing desktops becuase
of the Administrative install. While we can apply the patch to the
Administrative Install and push via SMS to these workstations, it can take
awhile getting to our Remote Users. Therefore, we were wondering if all
Microsoft Updates would be inaffective going forward or if this applies only
to SP2.

Does anyone have any idea?
