Error code 0x530 - appears to relate to the Windows Installer
For more information, see KB906323:

Error code 0x51F - Apparently this occurs when Office Setup cannot locate the
installation source because it's either corrupted or deleted.
Downloading the full update for Office 2003 may fix this problem.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU.exe or Try repairing your installation of Office 2003 - Method 1 - Open Word, go to Help - Select Detect and Repair Method 2 - 1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2. Click Add or Remove Programs. 3. Click the Office 2003 program that you want to repair, and then click Change. 4. In the Maintenance Mode Options dialog box, click Reinstall or Repair, and thenclick Next. 5. In the Reinstall or Repair Office dialog box, click Detect and Repair errors inmy Office installation, and then click Install. 6. When the repair process is finished, run the public update again. Most likely you will need to have your Office 2003 CD handy.

Thank you for the info. It worked great. I had my HD replaced recently and I
reinstalled the Office Pro 2002 and then the upgrade to Office Pro 2003. But
I tried 6 times to get it to install before I saw your post. Hopefully al
will go well now.

Glad I helped someone - I updated last night no problems with the smaller download -
it didn't ask for the CD.

Thank you, it could have worked but I deleted the initial installation files
and I cannot find the CD. When installing SP2, I get this error: A required
Installation file SKU011.cab could not be found.

What would you suggest now?
