Office 2003 shortcuts

Hello,

On a new install of Office 2003 basic, when i click on the start button then
type "word" then the corresponding shortcut on the start menu is highlighted
ie "Microsoft Office Word 2003" if i press enter or click it the word
application does not start. This happes with excell anf outlook as well.

Yes it most certainly is.

Installed ShellExView and disabled a few non Microsoft shell extension
handlers as pointed out in this post by Ramesh(MS_MVP)

This is a Office issue. Post this to the microsoft.public.office.misc . There are a lot of Office experts there that can help you with this issue
