Office 2003 SP2 and Junk E-mail filter will not install on MCE 200

The ubiquitous posts regarding these product installation failures from
Windows Web Update center also apply to Media Center Edition 2005 OS.

This is obviously a Microsoft problem, and I for one will not go through
with the reccommeded hassles inside of KB 836937 - there is too much risk
associated with those recommendations.

This is the first time I have ever experienced a product update issue - and
it is not due to firewalls or virus checking software.

Microsoft needs to fix this, not we owners and trustees.

I had same problem with computer. It was because Microsoft could not
validate software as being genuine.

According to their update page, it said that validation did not have to take
place if automatic updates were turned on. So start, run, services.msc.
Make sure that both auto updates and BIT Background intel tranfer service
are started.
