Hi there;
My Win Xp Pro laptop is set to receive security updates automatically. Which
has worked fine, until the last cluster of updates. Try as I might, I can't
get past this error message:

"Some updates could not be installed:
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB933666)
Security Update for Word 2003 (KB934181)
Security Update for Office 2003 (KB934180)
Update for PowerPoint 2003 (KB933669)
Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB936030)"

Is there a procedure in place to install these updates? Please advise.

Thanks,

Dennis

You cannot install an Office 2003 service pack
http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?id=884298

Step 2: Re-create the path of the original installation source in the registry
Especially for 80070643 if a registry cleaner is used

TaurArian, thanks for your reply. I'm having the same problem as Dennis. I
went to the Microsoft article #884298 that you mentioned, but when I follow
the instructions and try to create a new registry key called Path, it won't
let me because there's already a registry key called Path.

The background: my computer was failing the "Office Genuine Advantage"
anti-piracy validation test until earlier today when I switched from one
product key to another. Now it passes the test.

Anything else I can try? I saw this article:
"How to troubleshoot an update installation by using log files in Office
2003" at
http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?id=884290
But I did a c:\ search and I don't have any files anywhere that have
"OHotfix" in the filename.

Thanks again.

Hi everyone -
Problem solved. Someone in another forum told me to do Help > Detect &
Repair for each Office application, and that did the trick.
