Am trying to install Office 2003 Professional on my new Vista Home
Premium Laptop but the laptop is having rouble reading the disk.

Sometimes it won’t even read the disc. And when it does I don’t the
option to run setup.exe I have to go into the cds folders and start
installation that way.

And then, the installation will stop at a random point (as happened
three times) and I get a message saying can not read a certain file.

Have used the same CD to install office on two machines already so is
it possible my licence as run out is there a problem?

Have installed several other programs quite happily.

Any help/advice would be appreciated

clean the disks from all dust , fingerprints etc

if the above fails still try this

on a computer with a burner that can read the disk, make a copy of it,
and use the new copy to install it on the laptop

also make sure the laptop can read other disks without a problem, it might
be
the cd/dvd drive that's acting up

I had no problem installing Office 2003 except it does seem a little slow to
install and initially reading the disk was very slow. I have found this
with many programs and cd's since I started to use a vista machine. Any
licensing issues should be irrelevant to the actually installation of
Office.

Seems like it would be a lot easier to download and install OpenOffice.org
- has pretty much the same functionality.
