There is a work around for this. Your friend needs to go to the microsoft
website and download the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack for Office 2003.
This is because by default Offfice 2007 saves files in a newer format
(.docx) where as Office 2003 can only read the older format (.doc) unless
you use the Compatibilty pack.
You could just save your file as a word 97-2003 format document, by clicking
save as, and changing the type to "Office 97-2003 document" or something
similar. Anyway here's the link for the pack..
