My office was working fine till Dec 25, 2007 on my laptop. However, now my
office applications are not executing...If I open any of my previously saved
docs/ppt's/xls etc, the application shows as if it is launching and freezes
there.
If I try just launching the application, it says that the application did nt
open properly the last time, and whether I would like to open in Safe Mode. I
do and close it.. Then I open it again, but still my files dont open.
Same is the case with my Outlook 2007. The appln opens and freezes....
I tried doing a repair, but to no avail.
Pls give me solns leaving the option to reinstall as a last resort.

Wrong newsgroup. This is an issue for the Office newsgroups and not for Vista, Reposted to the Office newsgroup via crosspost

Have you tried reinstalling/repairing the Office suite?
You might want to post this in the following ng:

Another option, at least until you can resolve the problem, would be to
try OpenOffice.org - it will import and export MS Office files and works
pretty much like MS Office. And you can try it out for free.

Thanks guys for your suggestions... I will list down how this prblm ws sorted
out.. But first -- Some of the comments have been pretty childish in here....
We see thousands of posts here that are not limited to VISTA, so if one does
not have valid solutions, do not berate others when they point out the
mistakes...

Now for the solution....
I had earlier disable Symantec (came preinstalled) on my laptop since it ws
killing it... So whenever I tried runnin an MS application, I could see that
it was running a virus scan. I checked my PC guard...and that wasnt the
prblm... So I enabled Symantec... and lo behold everything ws fine....
So somehow MS applns were getting integrated to do a virus check on the
files when opened...
I got a removal tool from Symantec and uninstalled NIS....

And everything back to normal again..... Thanks again for your support....
