I guess I should have said, how do I go about getting office2007 for vista?
My last computer uses Windows 2000 and Office 2000. The XP and vista are so
totally foreign to me. That's what I get for asking for a laptop for
Christmas.

Hello...

Office 2003 and 2007 work well with Vista but be sure to install the service
packs too...
since there are service packs for both the above Office's

if you want to try something that is FREE and is compatible with Microsoft
Office you can try
OPENOFFICE here www.openoffice.org

For many functions this is more than enough and its free

Well, you could walk into a store and buy it.

Or;
http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/content.aspx?ctId=391

Or, try the trial version to see if you like it.
You may prefer Office 2003.

Microsoft Office 2007 works just fine on Windows Vista, read our ActiveWin
Review:
http://www.activewin.com/reviews/sof...ms/office2007/

WordPerfect Office X3 works fine on Vista too just as long as you install
Service Pack 1
Open Office also works fine on Windows Vista.

Sure, but I'd suggest you try the free OpenOffice.org first. It is very
similar, very compatible and will probably meet your needs.
